How it Works
1. Book a video call slot
Choose a time that works for you, and send us your online portfolio. The portfolio review will take place via video call. Lots of our mentors speak multiple languages—check their bio for other options if needed 🌎
2. Tell us what you want to discuss
After booking your review, you’ll be sent a short form to tell us what you’d like to talk about with your reviewer. You can decide between general portfolio feedback, or a critique of an artwork with a paintover.
3. Get an hour of career-changing advice
This 60-minute review is designed to give you clear next steps towards improvement. Your mentor will thoroughly review your portfolio, advising you on aligning the art and presentation with your career goals. Or if you’ve booked an art critique instead, you’ll receive constructive feedback and a paintover, so you can work on making it the star of your portfolio 🌟
Requirements
To ensure you get the most out of your review, please ensure your portfolio is up to date and features the best examples of your work. We advise that your portfolio is hosted either on a professional website such as ArtStation, or on your own site.
Meet your mentor
Rin Shapovalova (@rin.woodhead) is an Art Director at Mooncolony with over 14 years of experience working in the games industry. As the studio’s first ever full-time artist, Rin has played a pivotal role in Mooncolony’s evolution. After transitioning from concept art to illustration, she became a Lead Artist on Hearthstone, before taking on the role of Art Director. Rin has extensive experience in stylized art, and has created cinematics, card art, concept art and more for some of the world’s leading games companies. As a self-taught artist, Rin loves nothing more than sharing her skills with the next generation—and seeing her mentees get their first studio jobs!
